Mandelsmor Crunchy

According to mapquest, I walked more than 10 miles today throughout Copenhagen.  Let's just say that buying a bicycle & a bus pass is the first thing on my list for tomorrow!  During that walk I stopped at 4 grocery stores.  The first two came highly recommended from every student I spoke to but they both looked like a 99 cent store filled with too much processed food.  After coming home with only a bottle of water I decided to try the more expensive store that some had mentioned.  "Fotex" will definitely be my grocery store for the year, it had a Raleys or BelAir type vibe and wasn't much more expensive than the others.  Shopping isn't as hard as I thought it would be.  Although food comes in much different packaging than I am used to and the labels are all in Danish, it is pretty easy to figure out what you are buying.  An apple in Denmark looks exactly the same as an apple from the states.  My biggest problem was when I handed the cashier some Euros that I had from Germany when here in Denmark they use the Kroner.  I gave the guy a blank stare as he spoke Danish to me until he switched to English, asked if I was from America and explained that I was using the wrong currency.  How embarrassing!  After walking a little farther I came across the most incredible shop- Natur & Sundhed helsekost.  I haven't "google translated" that yet so I don't know what the store is called but that doesn't matter because look at what I bought today!
Yup, that's right!  A tub of almond butter!  Copenhagen is finally starting to feel a lot more like home!
